Matagal na pong nabili ni Nery Sunga (may-ari kay ES Twenty Six at Take Ten) si Hazmoore (by Hazm out of Hannah Moore) bred by Sandy Javier. Huling tumakbo siya nuong 2004 pa at tinalo siya ni SPEED MACHINE sa mile race sa Santa Ana.

Alam mo ba na dalawang beses gustong burahin ni Wind Blown ang record ni Hazmoore?

1. Sa TAB Philippine Philracom Open Championship

Nagpangabot si Wind Blown at Sun City (nanay ni Minsk City) pero walang nagawa si Sun City kay Wind Blown (Pat Dilema) upang dumating lamang ito ng pang pito. PERO hindi niya nabura ang record ni Hazmoore sa 1,900 meters (1.58-1/5). Pumereba lamang si Wind Blown ng 2:00. Segundang dumating si Kiwi Rose (nasa Class 4-7A na ngayon) tercera si High Roller at pang-apat naman si Materiales Fuertes.

2. 22nd Gran Copa de Manila

Nanalo si Wind Blown sa 22nd Gran Copa de Manila Stake Race at Hyperbid. Tinalo ni Wind Blown sila Super Sharp (JM Ladiana) Gold Edition (DH Borbe) Project Genesis (JT Zarate) at Materiales Fuertes (Pat Dilema). Kinamuntikan ng mabura ni Wind Blown ang record ni Hazmoore sa 1,900 meters na 1:58-1/5. Pumereba lang si Wind Blown ng 1:59.

Narito ang comparative performances sa record ng 1,900 meter at ikaw na ang makakapagsabi na hindi ka nagkamali na magaling ang paborito mong kabayo.

Isa sa mga hinahangaan kong hinete. Isa akong loyalty bet fan niya.

Nagumpisang sumakay nuong 1976. Dala niya ang pangalang jockey Samodio. Kapanahunan nila Fiorella, Little Morning at Gypsy Grey.

Hindi ko makakalimutan ng minsan ay tinanong ko siya. Bobot, kursunada ko ang sakay mo. Malakas ang pakiramdam ko na mananalo. At sagot niya sa akin ay. “May panalo, malakas nga lang ang kalaban”. At sagot ko naman sa kanya ay “Kaya mo yan, talo mo lahat yan sa diskarte. Isa lamang siya sa mga hineteng sumakay (about 5 tries) kay Wind Blown. At ang pinakamasaklap na pagkatalo ay kay Great Year (1999, Marho Breeder’s Cup Juvenile colt), na pinagmamay-ari ni “The King” Fernando Poe Jr. Si AMPITHEATRE naman ang nanalo sa Marho Breeder’s Cup Juvenile Fillies.

Ipinanalo si Thywillbedone (Jarcom Ent.) sa 2nd leg (JV Ongpin) ng Triple Crown sa SLLP upang talunin ang mga paboritong at mapublikong Real Spicy and Speed Advantage na siyang ikinagulat ng nakakaraming karerista.

Brasuhan ang labanan nila ni Speed Advantage hanggang sa huling 100 meters at nakuha sa tiyaga.

Hindi ko rin makakalimutan ng ipinanalo niya si FOOTWEAR upang talunin ang liyamadong Going Free at Mrs. Big. Muling nanalo si Footwear at tinalo si Throttle at Ginger Candy.

Naging katunggalian niya sila jockey Eduardo “Boboc” Domingo Jr at “El Maestro” Jesus Guce.

Hindi matatawaran ang kanyang angking galing kung kayat naging hinete siya ni Putch Puyat, Andrew Sanchez, Sandy Javier, Henry Cojuangco, Nicky Jacinto, Butch Mamon (C & H Ent.), Bobby Yutadco, Atty. Ed Moreno, Neil Velasco (Red N Stable) atbp.

Alam po ba ninyo na may mas mahahalagang impormasyon na dapat ilagay sa mga programa. Dati rati po kasi ay may nakasaad sa mga programa
1. Na may gamot ang kabayo.
2. Mayron pang isa na pinakamahalaga para sa mga karerista at ito po ay kung nakalagay sa mga programa kung NAKA BAKAL o NAKA SPIKE (aluminum plates) ang kabayo.
3. Mas lalo pong magiging makabuluhan ang karera kung halimbawa ay sa mga pangalan ng kabayo ay may karugtong na II, III, IV etc. Halimbawa, Cara Dura III (ikatlong gamit na ng pangalan ito mula sa mga Falcon, Avelino at ngayon naman ay kay Naval). Ito ay upang malaman kung sino ang tinutukoy. Paano pala kung may nagpangalan (muli) ng kabayong Sun God, Skywalker at Fair and Square. At nagkataon na sila ay nasa Class 4-7B?
4. Yung lahi (pedigree) ng kabayo ay importante rin pero bihira lang ang naglalagay nito.

Construction of Ayala Center to start before year ends

THE Floirendo-owned Damosa Land Inc. is pouring in investments in the real estate industry with three major projects lined up for implementation this year.

At the celebration of the company’s Diamond Anniversary on Monday, the company unveiled its three major projects for 2008, starting off with the much- anticipated joint venture with Ayala Land Inc. involving the development of the prime nine-hectare property of the Floirendos in Bajada, Davao City to a mall complex.

In an interview, Edgar Villaver, general manager of Damosa Land Inc., said the project dubbed as Ayala Center Davao will be a joint venture of Ayala Land Inc. and Damosa Land Inc. as wekk as affiliate companies of Damosa, such as Anflocor and Pitrade.

Villaver said the first phase of the program will be the construction of the business processing outsourcing part of the project.

“It will be started by June 2008, while the retail and mall complex will be started by the end of the year,” Villaver said.

Apart from the business processing outsourcing and mall complexes, the proposed land development will also include the construction of a hotel complex and commercial offices. The first phase of the project is to be completed by June 2009.

Another project of Damosa Land is the development of a residential-hotel-resort complex within the 33-hectare property of the Floirendos in Limao in the Island Garden City of Samal.

According to Villaver, the project will start in the third quarter of this year.

Damosa Land is also expected to start the construction of the Mindanao Jockey and Country Club, a racetrack, residential, and eco-tourism park, at the end of the year.

“It will consist of a residential area, an eco-tourism park, and of course the race track,” Villaver said.

The Mindanao Jockey and Country Club will be constructed in Marapangi, Toril.

Halos nakaka ilang parte na tayo na ating pinaguusapan tungkol sa mga magagaling na kabayo at iniidolong hinete (ngayon at nuon).

PERO ang hinding hindi makakalimutan ay ang mga naganap nitong mga nakalipas na dekada. Mga pangyayari na ang karerista mismo ay saksi sa mga nangyari at naging bahagi ng kasaysayan sa karera ng kabayo.

Natatandaan po ba ninyo ito.

Tiyak kapag binanggit ko ang mga pangalan na Kalipayan, Prince Cyclone, Favoite Son, Saludo Real, Golden Link, Slatkis at Black Squall ay may maalala kayo.

Nuon,… Hindi makakalimutan ng karerista ang nangyari tungkol sa panggugulang ni DC Sordan (sakay kay Kalipayan) kontra Jesus Guce (AMIHAN) sa pista ng San Lazaro. Lamang ng may tatlong kabayo sa bandang tres octabo si Amihan at rumeremate naman si Kalipayan. Pagsapit sa rekta ay ipinadpad ni Amihan si Kalipayan na halos kumiskis sa bukanang balya. Sa kagalingan ni Bong Guce, sumalisi sa takbo si Kalipayan at sabay sara naman sa may tabing balya hanggang sa dumating sa meta.

Ngayon,… naganap ang isang panggugulang ng kabayo ni Don Antonio Floirendo na Jacobo’s Dream kontra sa naantalang kabayo ni Tony de Ubago na si Socialeros.

Kamakailan ang panggugulang ni MF Daquis sa isang stakes race (Queen Elena) kay JB Guce (Shining Fame) na ikinagalit ni G Tony Tan sa mga stewards ng SLLP.

Nuon,. Ang pagpapatihulog ni AB Guce (Manileno) sa liyamadong liyamadong PRINCE CYCLONE na kabayo ni Rolly Rojas na nagdulot sa pagkakapanalo ni Touch of Alida (kabayo naman ni Gerry Gonzales). Nakakita na ba kayo ng isang hinete na habang tumatakbo ang sinasakyan niyang kabayo ay inaalis ang sinturon na nakakabit sa istribo/muntura.

Ngayon, alisan pa lamang ay (nahulog DAW) si GA Rivera sa liyamadong Hepburn (kabayo ni Gerry Espinas).

Ang foul riding ni VALMO’S CHOICE (Valmocina) kay Ulilang Bituin (Ed Monzon), na nagdulot ng pagkaatraso sa resulta ng matagal at imbis na matapos ang karera ng maaga ay inabot ng gabi.

Ang sobra sobrang liyamadong TOP D’ WORLD (sakay ni mang loloy, Wilfredo) bandera na ng malayo pagkalagpas sa rekta at natalisod ito. Top D World, baling bali ang paa. Di na pinakinabangan. Sayang.

Nasunog ang San Lazaro (Tayuman), matapos na manalo sa last race ang kabayong FIREMAN na sakay ni jockey Del Pilar.

Ang pagkakatalo ng liyamadong D DUX (kabayo ni Ric Nepomuceno) sa Santa Ana lulan si DI Castro. Nagbatuhan ng bote sa loob ng karerahan.

Nagkagulo sa loob ng (lumang) San Lazaro ng matalo ang liyamadong liyamadong SALUDO REAL ( sakay si JD Camu). Binasag ng mga karerista (na hindi matanggap ang pagkatalo) ang mga TV monitor ng San Lazaro.

Ang liyamadong liyamadong kabayo ni Rolly Rojas,natalo sa dehadong kabayo ng kanyang kapatid (Victor Rojas) FAVORITE SON (sakay si mang boy jockey CD Henson).

Ang pandarayang ginawa (sa kasaysayan ng karera) ni Jeffril Zarate sa paghulog ng tingga kay SLATKIS na nagdulot ng malaking usapin at nasangkot ang katulong nito upang masuspindi lamang (imbis na matanggalan ng lisensya) ng isang taon.

Ang garapal na pagkakatalo ni WILD ORCHID (FM Raquel) kay Golden Link (JB Hernandez) na ikinasama ng loob ni Atty. Ed Moreno upang ito ay ipagbili.

Ang masamang pagkakahulog ni Jesus Guce kay Split Decision (Santa Ana) at nadamay si JR Macaraig (Aminin) at Patti Dilema (Words of Joy). Nagpasya na magretiro na lang ito.

Nagkahulugan (sa isang karera sa SLLP, March 29, 2005, Allowance Race ) at nadamay ang ibang mga hinete na isinisi ang trahedya sa hinete na sakay kay BLACK SQUALL (JT Zarate). Nanalo si Black Squall. Segunda si Bumpy Johnson kasunod naman si Sunline. NV Cannaoay ang siyang unang nahulog kay REASON TO BELIEVE. Windswept nadamay at bali ang paa.

The Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park is located about 50 km north of the city of Puerto Princesa, Palawan, Philippines. It features a limestone karst mountain landscape with an 8.2 km. navigable underground river. A distinguishing feature of the river is that it winds through a cave before flowing directly into the South China Sea. It includes major formations of stalactites and stalagmites, and several large chambers. The lower portion of the river is subject to tidal influences. The underground river is reputed to be the world’s longest. At the mouth of the cave, a clear lagoon is framed by ancient trees growing right to the water’s edge. Monkeys, large monitor lizards, and squirrels find their niche on the beach near the cave.

Nobody can match FAIR AND SQUARE credentials

So much has been said about the sprint record of Ariba King as the fastest in 900 meters in Philippine horse racing, the epic duel between Empire King and Cover Girl, the previous rivalry between Real Spicy and Speed Advantage, the upset win of Bulldozer against the star studded line up of the Presidential Gold Cup that includes Real Top and Strong Material and the impressive performance of Ibarra and Don Enrico.

But there stands to be the greatest and the most impressive super horses the Philippines ever got and that is none other than
FAIR AND SQUARE,

We all know that the superhorse is owned by C & H Enterprises (Mamon family) but do you know that his dam by the name of Fair Sea, an imported horse was least liked by some of the owners before Fair and Square was foaled.

FAIR AND SQUARE was a Triple Crown champion in 1981. He was the first back to back champion in the Presidential Gold Cup (1981 & 1982). He was retired in 1983. Fair and Square has also sired two previous Presidential Gold Cup champions, SUN DANCER (1989 and 1990) and FAIR START (1993). Sun Dancer was the second horse to duplicate the same feat of FAIR AND SQUARE by winning back to back the Presidential Gold Cup in1989 & 1990.

Fair and Square has also produced a lot of champions. They are all veteran stakes campaigner and they are always in the money namely EXPARTE, FAIR DEAL, FAIR LEAD, FAIR MAIDEN, FAIR NATIVE and FAIR START.

WESTBOUND ,winner of seven races in 11 starts before and the progeny of US-bred sire Hezagonwest out of Fair Maiden should have been the first grandson of Fair and Square to win the triple crown but it was spoiled by Success Story in the 3rd leg.of the Triple Crown in 2003.

Fair Deal had produced Fair Go (owned by Yeng Guiao) and Amazing Red. While Fair Lead had produced Vigor, Diligence (a winner in numerous regular races) and sprinter Stallone who beat Moab in a sprint race.

Here are the other sires of Fair and Square namely All is Fair, Fair Challenge, Fair Chance, Fair Enough, Fair Game, Fair Leonor, Fair Skies and Fair Warning. All is Fair and Fair Skies has always been a winner in the regular race while Fair Challenge, Fair Leonor and Fair Warning won in a regular race as longshots.

In short, no other superhorses in the Philippines has duplicated and was able to match the impressive credentials of Fair and Square for having a grandsire who are champions in their own rights. Neither the great gallopers like NATIVE GIFT, PARIS MATCH, SKYWALKER, GYPSY GREY, RED ANNIE, SUN GOD and ILOCOS KING has match Fair and Square’s record when it comes to offsprings. Not even WIND BLOWN, REAL TOP or STRONG MATERIAL can match it.
